Biography
Following a series of “self-discovery” jobs, Donna discovered ESL while she and her family were living in Brussels, Belgium. After graduation from Lock Haven University, she began her career as an English teacher outside Philadelphia, PA, then went on to do social work in Cleveland, Ohio for three years. She moved on to Control Data Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was a member of CCR (Committee on Corporate Responsibility). She then settled into motherhood for 16 years. While living in Brussels (1984-1989), Donna discovered ESL through a volunteer organization and taught ESL for 4 ½ years to Belgian citizens. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked for inlingua, an international language organization that offers language training and translation services over a wide range of languages. While there she taught ESL to members of the business community in the Baltimore area and also began a Master’s Program at University of Maryland. In 1992, she began working at HCC and is currently teaching Oral Communication and the ESL Reading labs.
Her overseas experiences include 4 ½ years in Brussels, Belgium. Her travels include the Canary Islands, Tunisia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands, England, Ireland, Italy and Australia.
Donna is married with a son and daughter. She enjoys yoga and walking.
