Agradezco a las maestras y dirección de HCC por su colaboración y paciencia ya que gracias a su ayuda y esfuerzo mutuo, hoy tengo la facilidad de comunicarme con personas que no hablan mi idioma.

I’m grateful to the teachers and instruction at HCC for their assistance and patience. Thanks to their help and mutual effort, now I have the ability to communicate with people who do not speak my language.

對於一個剛來美國的人來說，不懂英語又不會開車，言語不通交通不便會使你日夜思念故鄉。當我走進HCC開始學習英語，我的感覺完全改變了！在這裡，世界各地的學生相聚在一起，大家都是朋友，平等相待。這裡的老師永遠微笑著和每一個學生說話，永遠耐心地解答學生的問題。這裡的老師讓他們的學生們積極地去創造生活！

When I arrived in the United States, I didn't speak English and couldn't drive. I was lonely and bored everyday. When I started studying English at HCC, my life completely changed! There are students from all over the world here and everyone is friendly and respectful to each other. The teachers here are always kind and patient when they explain the answers to students' questions. The teachers here enable their students to take control of their lives!

Al principio fue un poco difícil ser un estudiante en HCC porque me parecía que la mayoría en mi clase entendía y hablaba en ingles y yo no podía casi nada.  Pero después de esforzarme un poco más, puedo comprender. Gracias a mis maestros y a un poco de empeño ahora comprendo más y me siento muy feliz por el pequeño avance ya que esto me ha ayudado a dar un paso más en mi trabajo y en mi vida.

At first, it was a little hard to study at HCC because I felt like the other students in my class could understand and speak English and I could not. But after forcing myself, now I can understand. Thanks to my teachers and a little effort, I understand more and I feel happy for the progress that has help me to move up in my job and in my life.

私は2006年に日本からアメリカに来ました。そして、その年の夏、HCCで英語の勉強を始めました。その当時の私は、“Hello”しか理解できませんでした。Pre-beginningの先生は当時、私に電話番号を覚えるように言いました。わたしは毎日を家で練習しました。先生の教え方もよく、私は英語のスキルを伸ばすことができました。そして、今、私は、Intermediate IIのクラスにすすみます。そして、先生やアメリカの友達とのふれあいを楽しんでいます。

I came to U.S.A in 2006 from Japan, and started to learn English at HCC that summer. At that time, I just understood “hello”.  The pre-beginning teacher gave me, “remember your telephone number!” I practiced it every day at home.  The teacher’s class was so nice that I could improve my English skill. Now I can attend Intermediate II class.  I am having fun interacting with teachers and American friends.
