The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program offers community-based classes, intensive classes, and business classes, and online classes. Click here to find out which is right for you. Click here for Registration, placement, and testing Information.
All ESL classes will be held in Hickory Ridge and Duncan Hall buildings at Howard Community college campus. CLICK HERE for HCC Campus Map.
College will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day and Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day (No Classes).

Online ESL Class
Students can register for online classes in person or through HCC Express. HCC Express is available daily from 7:30am to 11:30pm (EST). Have your VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card handy. Self-placement is allowed in these classes, so please notice the required levels. If you would like to take our online placement test to confirm your level, please contact us at elc@howardcc.edu and we will send a link. To register:
• Go to www.howardcc.edu/elc
• Click on “HCC Express” on the bottom of the page
• Select the Noncredit/Continuing Education student category
• Type in the Course Number (ex: YE-000). Find the course number in the course description
• Select the course and click on “Submit”
• Complete the “Personal Identification” form
• Follow the remaining instructions and proceed with payment
