Interior Decorating Basics
Learn how to plan and design a room in your home. This 8-week course will not only teach you different aspects of interior design, but also help you get started on your room make-over. Together, we will work on creating a design notebook for a room in your home. With this, and the knowledge you will gain, you will be able to decorate your space with confidence. Learn about room arrangements, color, lighting, window treatments, hanging wall art, accessorizing, and much more. Note: Students supply own materials. List provided by instructor at first class. Creating Furniture Arrangements That Work *NEW!*

Holiday Floral Design
Work with professional floral designers and create your own festive floral arrangements. Use a variety of fresh cut flowers, greens and holiday accent supplies and learn the basic tips and techniques to design your own centerpieces and wreath. You may enroll in one, two or all three sessions ($38 per session or $89 for all three). A materials fee* of approximately $15-$25 is due the instructor at the beginning of each class for floral supplies. Upholstery 101
Would you like to feel the pleasure of completing your own upholstery project? Upholsterer and instructor Tom Vaughan has been in the business for 30 years and is owner of The Cover-Uph Inc. Upholstery 101 is the first half of a progressive upholstery course designed to teach you the fundamental techniques used by upholsterers. You will assemble a frame, stain the legs, learn how to tack, make a clamp, build a foundation, measure and cut material, and blind stitch. After group demonstrations by Tom, you will pair up with a partner to practice on your own. Please bring a #2 Phillips screwdriver, shears, tape measure, straight edge, and pencils to class. Tom will provide the additional supplies for a fee of approximately $167 to be paid at the first class (includes everything from frame and stuffing to tacks). Class size limited to 10 students. $99**

Residential Landscape-Master Plan
Learn how to design, install, and maintain your home landscape. Professional horticulturist Miriam Mahowald lectures on plant identification and selection, installation techniques, and future care for new and renovated sites. Intermediate Beer Appreciation *NEW!*
This course is designed for students who have completed the Beer Appreciation Class. You will focus on getting to know different beer styles and brewing techniques, as well as how to judge beer quality. "Gourmet" beers are gaining in popularity not only for social occasions, but also for cooking and pairing with food. Cheese and some appetizers will accompany the beers to determine pairing. Some history of Maryland beers will be presented along with more in-depth discussion of the beers we will be sampling including beers from around the world and organic beers. Do you enjoy wine but don't feel confident in your knowledge of the subject? Join this class and overcome your insecurities. Discuss wine production, different types of wines, wine terminology, and other useful information. Examine different aromas and decipher wine labels to determine how various wines will taste.
