Preparation for Math Placement Test
This 15-hour course is a partnership between Howard Community College's Division of Continuing Education and the HCC Credit Math Department. This course is recommended for those who wish to improve their chances of being placed into a higher level credit math course. $130 (includes $30 computer fee and $20 materials fee*)

Preparation for Math Placement Test Online
This 3-week online course prepares you to take the math placement test at Howard Community College. The course can also help those who have taken the placement test before and want to raise their score. Course materials will be available online at a dedicated course website, and the instructor will communicate with students via e-mail. This course involves a required on-campus orientation for you to receive web access and materials. Topics include arithmetic, basic math functions, elementary algebra, geometry, and college math. To take this course, you must have completed an algebra class. $130 (includes $30 computer fee*)

Preparation for the SAT
Students will review basic math through Algebra II to prepare for the problem reasoning on the new SAT test. Verbal preparation includes examination of essays, improving paragraphs, reading comprehension, and sentence completion. Test-taking tips will be included in each session. This course is recommended for students taking the SAT this academic year and who are currently taking or have taken geometry.
