3D Art: Fun Times 4
Ages 7-10. Jump into 3 dimensional art by creating projects in four fun materials: paper, clay, mixed media, and metal. Look at historical and current examples, learn new techniques, and think about what makes something art! Projects could include pop-up cards, origami, clay animals and pots, a trick book made from a box, a wire person, and more. 1 week $175 (includes $60 in fees*)

A Week of Windows
Ages 7-10. Spend a week getting acquainted with the basic functions of Windows software (and a computer) and practice keyboarding with daily warm-up exercises. Create interesting projects while learning which buttons to click. Word processing, drawing programs, making stationery, and organizing collections are just some of the skills you’ll master. All About Technology

Ages 7-10. Fun, exciting and challenging activities await you as you are introduced to a variety of relevant technologies. Experiment with digital photography and practice digital editing with Photoshop. Use a Global Positioning System to play a high-tech game of hide and seek. Practice skills such as orienteering, treasure hunting, and waymarking--better known as Geocaching. Discover the FUNdamentals of technology. Beach Party Art
Ages 7-10. Get ready for some wet and sandy fun! Design your own sun visor, move to party music, and create some incredible underwater art! Learn about the world-famous sidewalk chalk artist Julian Beevers while you create unique sidewalk designs. There will be an Obsta-COOL course, spray bottle painting, sand art and shell designs, beach party day, and more fun on the run. Experiment with a variety of materials, and learn about new techniques such as silkscreen, relief, and sand art. Learn about fashion design, industrial design, craft design, and sand art while studying artists such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Gauri Sharma, Florence Forrest and Ksenia Simonvia. Commotion in the Ocean
Ages 7-10. Dive into the ocean and see what unique creatures lurk in the deep! Explore the different oceans and seas and learn what makes each special. Discover the different depths of the oceans and how whales, dolphins, sea anemones, eels, jellyfish, and other sea critters survive. Cool Art: From Big to Small
Ages 7-10. Size matters in art, and in this class, dimensions, scope, and proportions all count. Make some really big, gigantic art along with some teeny, tiny art. Paint long murals and create miniature collages, construct monumental geometric sculptures that are taller than you are and tiny sculptures that you can hold in one hand. Try your hand at experimental drawing methods, mimic the bright colors of Fauvism and Lily Yeh's murals, and "Cool Globes" inspired by the cool Globe Project that is touring the world. Elementary Engineering

With the digital revolution everyone can rock out even if you have never played an instrument! Create songs, podcasts, or music videos using tools like Garage Band and other mass media software, explore the basics of song composition, editing tracks, and create a music video. Junkyard Wars
Ages 8-11. In this eco-friendly class, students will recycle common everyday items to create motorized mechanisms, mini-robots, and racers. The program is divided into a series of challenges where students will compete as teams against each other to accomplish specific tasks. Each challenge combines environmental principles, physics, and basic elements of design and engineering. TEST PREPARATION

Preparation for the SAT
You will review basic math through Algebra II to prepare for the problem reasoning on the SAT test. Verbal preparation includes improving vocabulary, essay writing, and reading comprehension. Test taking tips will be included in each session. This course is recommended for students taking the SAT this academic year and who are currently taking or have taken geometry. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. Parents or guardians of students under 16 years of age will be required to complete a special form that will be given to these students on the first day of class. You must bring a calculator. $305 (includes $70 in fees*)

LUNCH

Lunch Schedule
All students staying on campus for both morning and afternoon courses must register for the supervised lunch hour from 12 noon to 1 pm. Students must register for the appropriate date section. Students ages 7-10 will go to Room HR-108, and students 11 and older will go to the HR-154 corridor at the Hickory Ridge Building. General audience movies will be shown. Fee covers supervision, facilities and movies. NONPERISHABLE LUNCHES ARE REQUIRED. NO REFRIGERATION IS AVAILABLE. 1 week $17** (includes $0 in fees*)
