Brush up--get legal! This is a shorter, more streamlined version of the Basic Rider course for individuals who have recent riding experience and who need a Class "M" license.  This course provides a brief review of the street skills covered extensively in the Basic Rider course. When you successfully complete this course, you meet the requirements for earning a Maryland (Class "M") Motorcycle License.

Through nine exercises, you will refine your riding and motorcycle control skills and prepare for written and riding evaluations. The evaluations will be conducted at the end of class.

Classes meet at the riding range. Riding is not for everyone and some participants will not successfully complete the course. MVA rules required that students who do not achieve minimum performance standards cannot continue. There are no refunds. Course content is approved by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) and Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), and instructors are MVA and MSF certified.

To receive the MVA Motorcycle Safety Program course completion certificate, you must attend the entire class and pass written and riding evaluations. Classes are held rain or shine. Motorcycles are provided. At registration, you will be asked to provide your driver's license number. You must also sign waivers of liability. (Parents or guardians of registered students under age 18 will be required to sign waiver forms.)  Please read the MVA Licensing Rules before you register.  See the "Required Safety Gear and Motorcycles" policy for required equipment.  This course costs $230 (includes $125 equipment fee, a $30 registration fee, and a $35 fee collected by the MVA.  Fees not eligible for waiver).  Classes meet on the Overflow Parking Lot in front of the Athletic & Fitness Center ("Range 2" on the map).
