Experienced Rider Course
This course is designed for Class "M" licensed motorcyclists who want to improve or refine their skills. Under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor, you will practice a variety of skills and techniques for motorcycle control. You will also receive a basic refresher in street skills and survival strategies. During nine riding exercises, instructors will advise you about how to improve skills and eliminate bad habits.
Howard Community College no longer provides stand-alone ERC classes, but you have two great options:
1. Register for any Alternate Basic Rider Course and call or email us to let us know that you’d like to take the class as an Experienced Rider Course student. You will receive a regular ERC completion card. The course and materials are exactly the same; the Alternate BRC uses the ERC curriculum. As an ERC student, you provide your own motorcycle for this class. It must be registered, insured, and meet our standards for safety. Sorry, scooters, trikes, and sidecar rigs cannot be accommodated. Or, you can take the course as an Alternate Basic Rider student and use one of our bikes. Learn more.
2. Or better yet, consider taking our Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic. If you truly are an experienced rider, this more challenging and exciting course may be just what you’re looking for. Learn more.
