HOW TO REGISTER FOR NONCREDIT CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES
Choose 1 of 4 easy options:
Option 1: ONLINE (using HCC Express)
Take advantage of HCC's online registration service, available daily 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Register and pay onscreen, and get immediate confirmation. No waiting or delays! Have your VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card handy. At the top of this page, mouse over the “Registration and Payment” dropdown menu and then on “Online Registration via HCC Express," our online registration system. New out-of-county, out-of-state, or international students, and new students who qualify for a senior waiver must register for the first time by fax, mail, or in person. If you are a current or returning student and your correct email address is not in our system, please call 443-518-4825. Your login is a combination of your first initial, first seven letters of your last name, all in lowercase, and the last four digits of your student ID number. The student ID number appears on your confirmation letters from previous registrations. Only students who have taken classes in the last five years have an account. If you're a new student, HCC Express will prompt you to provide your address and other information, and after you have registered, you will receive a confirmation with your student ID number and password. For questions about HCC Express passwords, call HCC's Help Desk at 443-518-4444. For questions about logins, call 443-518-4825. Note: The online registration option is not available once a class starts.
Updating Your Contact Information in Our System: If you need to update your name, address, phone, or email address in our system, please send a signed letter indicating the changes along with a photocopy of your driver's license to prove your identity to: Continuing Education Registration, Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Pkwy Ste 100, Columbia, MD 21044-3197. The updating must be authorized via a letter with your signature and driver's ID and therefore cannot be done via HCC Express, phone, or fax.
Option 2: FAX
Fax the registration form and credit card information for VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover, including account number and expiration date to 443-518-4333. Credit card information must accompany faxed-in registration. (Please allow two days for processing.) If you register at least seven days before your class begins, you will receive a confirmation in the mail.
Option 3: IN PERSON
Fill out the registration form, bring it with you along with your credit card or check, and visit the Registration Office in the Student Services Building, room 233.
Hours: 8:45 a.m.—7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8:45 a.m.—5:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Option 4: MAIL (U.S. Postal Service)
Print out the registration form, include credit card information for VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover, or enclose a check payable to Howard Community College (please put name, address, and home and business phone numbers on the check), and mail in an envelope via the United States Postal Service to:
Howard Community College
10901 Little Patuxent Parkway
Columbia, MD 21044-3197
ATTN: Lock Box Cashier RCF 203
Please note: Since "snail mail" is the slowest method, you may lose your opportunity to get into those classes that fill quickly, so please mail as early as you can. If you register at least seven days before the class begins, you will receive a confirmation in the mail.
EMAIL is NOT a registration option. For your own security, do not risk identity theft by emailing personal information such as addresss, phone, ID #, and credit card number to us. To register, use only one of the four Options above.
Tuition must be paid in full at time of registration. All courses with tuitions of over $40 include a built-in $40 registration fee.
Save a class from cancellation! Get a friend to register!Register early--classes need a minimum number of enrolled students in order to run. You can register up to three days before class starts, but if you wait that long, the class may be canceled because of low enrollment.
Are you interested in taking a credit (degree) class but without getting grades or having to take exams? You may want to consider a CustomClass. The CustomClass option is designed for the student who is seeking knowledge for the sake of knowledge, without the need to earn credit toward a degree.
If you experience any problems with registration, call 443-518-4825 during normal business hours.
